On the subject of handmade signs, Helen S. reminds me of one posted where a road near Trebarwith Strand squeezes down and turns. It says, “Slow down for fox’ sake.” Editor that I am, I can’t help wanting to add an S after that apostrophe, but it would wreck the joke.
