What’s life like for the ducks of Britain? I can’t speak for all of them, but–. Okay, I can’t speak for any of them, but I can guess that it’s not bad for this group. Apologies for having to send you on a wild duck chase if you want to see the photo. I still haven’t figured out how to snatch photos from news stories. What the hell, they copyrighted anyway. It’s worth a click.
My thanks to Deb for sending me the link, which I’d have missed without her.
This is something everyone needs to see. Thank you :)

I do hope they don’t become imprinted as footballers

I hadn’t thought of that. Now I’m worried.

Oh, for crying out loud. What a refreshing piece of news amongst all the other dross we’re being fed!

Interesting adventure for the ducks :-)

They’ll be left with a very skewed impression of what humans are like.

We love our ducks, nice and crispy in pancakes with hoisin sauce usually.

Especially ducks that are very big relative to our tiny little selves.

For a truly bizarre moment, I thought giant ducks had landed on a football pitch. I need to go back to the optometrist.

Tell them I’ll be there right after you’re done, because that was my first thought too.

Hilarious, validated by the fact that Eric laughed, too. He is one to rarely crack a smile or laugh at very few cartoons or silly stuff like that… though there’s a glimmer that he may be teachable. (Is that a word?)

Absolutely it’s a word. I’m not sure it was 50 years ago, but it is now.

Damn, so cute. Only little soccer strips for ’em could have made it cuter.

They would’ve, but mama duck said no.

Aagh, this is terrifying! From the perspective of the footballers and beach goers, I mean. Gigantic ducks crashing their holidays. (I’ve always identified with the little guys. It can make life difficult.)

I know how you feel. When I was a kid, nature shows quietly terrified me. I identified with whatever was getting eaten. It’s probably not irrelevant that I was a younger sister. On the other hand, I have it on good (if wholly invented) authority that plastic beach-goers are resilient.

You relieve my mind. I shall be able to sleep after all, instead of having nightmares about a duckpocalypse.

(By the way, right-mouse click on the photo and “save photo as…” and then just can credit the site when you post the photo on yours.)

You’re kidding! It’s that simple? Thanks. (A technological genius I’m not, as you may have figured out.)

The funny thing is that I think I told you how to do that a couple of years ago, LOL.

You probably did. And I probably didn’t understand it. The challenge this time around is keeping the information where I stand a chance of finding it when I want it. By the way, have you seen my desk lately? I know it’s around here somewhere.
